Fudgy Chocolate Squares

So, as promised, this week I did manage to take a break from my undying love for berries and whipped up something chocolatey. These squares are so fudgy and soft and melting in your mouth that you would definitely forgive yourself for dealing with some few extra calories. But hey, if you're gonna be health conscious and hovering on this particular page, might I just say, that's a bit of a waste here.

Ingredients:

1cup butter

1 and a half cup sugar

4 eggs

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 tsp baking powder

Frosting:

3 tbsp butter

1/2 cup chocolate buttons

1/3 cup icing sugar (sifted)

Directions:

1. In a large saucepan melt the butter. You could do that in the microwave oven as well. When it's done, stir in the sugar and eggs. Beat in the cocoa powder, flour, salt and baking powder. Spread the mixture in a prepared loaf tin.

2. Bake in a 180°C oven for 25 minutes. Please do not overcook. That'll be a crime.

3. To make the frosting, melt the butter and chocolate buttons together in an oven and beat in the icing sugar.

4. When your chocolate squares are ready, pour over the frosting and adorn with nuts of your choice if you like. I usually go for maltesers.

Don't mind me. I'm going in! Enjoy!!!
